Cancellation Policy

MacEwan Centre for Sport and Wellness reserves the right to restrict enrollment or to cancel any class with insufficient registrations.

Should the course you have registered for be cancelled, we will make every effort to inform you at home or at work prior to the start date, so please provide both numbers when you register.

The issuance of refunds to patrons for the cancellation of or withdrawal from registered programs or private lessons.

Registered Programs - refers to any regularly scheduled program that requires participants to register and pay a fee prior to participating.

Lessons - refers to any private or semi-private personal training sessions or swimming or squash lessons.

Criteria: 
48+ hours before: A full refund will be granted on all cancellation/withdrawal requests received more than 48 hours before the start of a registered program or lesson. 

47-24 hours before: A full refund, minus a $10 administration fee, will be granted on all cancellation/withdrawal requests received 47 to 24 hours before the start of a registered program or lesson. 

Less than 24 hours:  A pro-rated refund (the first class of registered programs will be forfeited), minus a $10 administration fee, will be granted on all cancellation/withdrawal requests received less than 24 hours before, or any time after, the start of a registered program or lesson.  A private lesson will be forfeited if cancelled with less than 24 hours notice 

*Refunds for the MacEwan Recreation Road Trips, Intramural Tournaments, or the Get Into It 3 pak, require written consent of a Campus Recreation staff member.

**Rescheduling Private or Semi-private Lessons:  A lesson may be rescheduled once without penalty as long as the client provides a minimum of 24 hours notice.  Rescheduling requests received less than 24 hours prior to the start of a lesson will result in the lesson being forfeited and the client being charged the full value of the lesson.   Any subsequent requests will be charged a $10 administration fee and must be received more than 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson.

Cancellation or Withdrawal due to medical reasons
Cancellations or withdrawals requested for medical reasons will be granted (at the discretion of the program supervisor) when the request is accompanied by a signed doctor's note.

Memberships: all withdrawn/cancelled memberships are refunded a pro-rated amount of the payment. All cancellation/withdrawal requests must be received either in person or by email at: accessdesk@macewan.ca
