MacEwan Student Programming
MacEwan Student Sport and Wellness Membership Information
All students enrolled in 6 credits or more per term are assessed a Sport and Wellness Fee of $70 / term (Fall and Winter) and $25 / term (Spring and Summer).
With that fee City Centre students receive Plan B* memberships giving you access to the Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness(Building 8).
This includes access to:
» The fitness area, cardio/weight equipment.
» Value-added fitness and aquatic classes at no additional charge.
» Unlimited access to the pool and gymnasium. (based on availability-visit daily schedules)
» The squash/racquetball courts.
» Discounted rates on MacEwan Recreation leagues, tournaments, registered fitness and aquatic programs, as well as, personal training sessions.
» Student priorty appointments to the MacEwan Medical Clinic.
Students must bring their ID card to access MacEwan Centre for Sport & Wellness.
*Plan A-Unlimited Access to Facility
Students at South Campus and Centre for the Arts and Communications Campus have unlimited access to the Christenson Family Centre and the facility at their campus.
Plan B-Limited Access to Facility
Students at City Centre Campus have access to the entire Christenson Family Centre during normal hours, except the fitness area (cardio/weight equipment) during our peak hours-Monday to Friday, 12-1pm and 5-7pm. Plan A upgrades are $65/term-call 780-497-5300 for more information.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
Join us on September 13 and 14 for the launch of Choose Your Own Adventure and the opening of fall student programming registration.
MacEwan Sport and Wellness is pleased to announce the launch of a new incentive program for students. Choose Your Own Adventure rewards students for participating in student only programs. By taking part in one or more of these programs, you can enter to win great prizes each time you participate.
The Grand Prize is a $300 gift certificate to Backside Tours for activities including ski and snowboard, surf, and golf adventures. The Choose your Own Adventure winners will be announced at the wrap-up party on Tuesday, November 30.
Participating programs for Choose Your Own Adventure Student Only programs (see below); MacEwan Recreation programs including Learn II's (Mountain Bike Free Ride, Squash, Rock Climb), Intramurals (dodegeball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, ultimate, inner-tube waterpolo) and Road Trips; and attending Griffins home games.

Student Only Hip Hop » $20/Month
For the beginner and intermediate dancer. If you have ever wanted to move like Michael, Usher, or Ciara, this high-energy class is for you. You will learn the fundamentals of Hip Hop and how to find your own rhythm and groove to the beat. Come ready to sweat and work! White soled runners are required and baggy sweats preferred.

Enjoy a workout which is invigorating and refreshing with music to get you ready to go. This class combines cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength to provide you with a fun, water workout suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Come and experience the great workout provided through water fitness. This is a registered class for students only.

Student Master Swim» $100
Did you swim competitively before coming to University and want to keep swimming? Do you want to join a swim program to increase and/or maintain your fitness? Join our student master swim today. A certified coach will lead you through a great workout including a variety of stroke drills, distance challenges and individual feedback. This program is suitable for non-competitive and competitive swimmers alike as long as you can swim 50m comfortably. Swim meets are an option for those students who are interested.

Student Only Water Sports
Students will engage in aerobic activity while participating in fun water sports such as inner tube water polo, water volleyball, water basketball, and underwater hockey. No previous playing experience is required; however students must be comfortable in both deep and shallow water. Flotation devices will be used or made available when necessary. Please check the MacEwan Recreation website for a detailed activity schedule (www.MacEwan.ca/Recreation). Equipment provided, but please bring your own swimwear.

Deep/ShallowWater Fitness
We supply everything, so get your swimsuit and a water bottle and join us at the pool edge ready for a great workout. A mixture of deep and shallow water fitness, this class will increase your endurance and strength in a way that is low impact. You must be comfortable in the deep end (a floatation belt is provided).
